This pottery jar was unearthed in the kitchen room of the first side room in the East. It is made of muddy grey pottery, with flat mouth, short neck and round bottom. The shoulder of the pottery jar is engraved with "Dongxiang Luli ". There are 8 large pottery jars and 4 small ones in the room. The ornaments of big pottery jar are rope pattern, Bi pattern(The fine-toothed comb pattern) or string pattern. There are many inscriptions on the shoulders, such as "Si Jia Mu Ba Shi Shi Shi Shi Xiang Dong", "Si Jia Bing Si", "Shi Shi Dong" and "Mu". The small pottery jar is 34-44 cm high, and its shape is similar to that of the large pottery jar, and its shoulders are folded slowly. The shoulder is also engraved with the words. These words record the origin, capacity, craftsman's name, and craftsman's mark. Besides the pottery jar, it also unearthed the "Lanling Cheng seal" and other sealing mud, it shows that these big pottery jars are the container for food and wine in Lanling which is a county under the state of Chu. Small pottery jars are the utensil containing meat sauce, water chestnut sauce. In addition, the bones of pigs, dogs, cattle and chickens were also found in the room, which was enough to show the rich diet of the king of Chu.
