Introduction

      

      At 3 pm on November 24th, the Exhibition opened at the Art gallery in Nanjing University of the Arts and continued until January 10, 2018. Guests present at the opening ceremony included Zhang Chengzhi, deputy dean of Nanjing University of the Arts, Gao Chengfu, director of Xuzhou General Administration of Culture, Radio, Television and News and party secretary, Li Xiaoshan, director of Art gallery in Nanjing University of the Arts, Li Xiaojun, director of Xuzhou Museum...The opening ceremony was hosted by Art Museum curator Chen Rui.


      The Exhibition is one of the "Collection Cultural Relics Exchange Activities" organized by Art gallery in Nanjing University of the Arts and Xuzhou Museum, and it is the "105th Anniversary of Nanjing University of the Arts". The project was supported by Nanjing University of the Arts and Xuzhou General Administration of Culture, Radio, Television and News. The time span of this exhibition's works focuses on the late Ming to the late Qing Dynasty, which traces back the development of Chinese painting and calligraphy in this period.

      At the opening ceremony, Professor Zhang Chengzhi introduced that this exhibition is a very important part of the "105th Anniversary of Nanjing University of the Arts". These masterpieces offer a rare learning opportunity for students.
      Mr. Gao Chengfu said that he hopes to take an opportunity to promote cultural exchanges between Xuzhou Museum and universities and expand the influence and spread of Xuzhou calligraphy and painting. He was also looking forward to the "One Drop of the Sea-Special Exhibition of Liu Haisu's Works Collected in Nanjing University of the Arts" held on December 1 at the Xuzhou Museum. The special exhibition will surely present a feast of calligraphy and painting for the citizens of Xuzhou, and it will also inject strong spiritual momentum for construction of a strong cultural city.

      Mr. Li Xiaojun said that this exhibition is the first time for Xuzhou Museum to collect, protect and display the collection of paintings and calligraphy. It is an important opportunity to expand the public service capabilities of Xuzhou Museum and display the museum's cultural relics. 

      Finally, Mr. Li Xiaoshan said that this year is the 105th birthday of the Nanjing University of the Arts and the fifth anniversary of the opening of the Art Galley. He hoped everyone pays more attention.
