I'm very glad to learn that Ma Qian's painting exhibition is about to open in Xuzhou Museum. I was ready to go to the scene to congratulate, but I couldn't leave because of the sudden task, so I had to convey my heartfelt congratulations with the help of words!

Ma Qian graduated from Nanjing Normal University in 1991 and has been engaged in art education for 26 years. Her courses in her university involve a wide range of fields, from art foundation to design foundation, from folk art to design art. This kind of teaching from basic to high-end, from China to the west, makes her gallop in a large-scale academic field. It is not hard to see from her works that the study of these courses has made her a versatile artist.

At the stage of studying for master's degree in design art of Suzhou University, Ma Qian developed a method path of theoretical research on her favorite art direction. The deep understanding of "people-oriented" in design and the accurate grasp of the whole and details are embodied in her creative works of visual communication. What I admire more is that Ma Qian knows well about the research on the intangible cultural heritage of local fine arts in Xuzhou. Her footprints are all over the counties and districts of Xuzhou. She mentions that there are so many inheritors of intangible cultural heritage in Xuzhou. The related topics and papers at the provincial and municipal levels that she presides over the research give important theoretical support to the local folk arts. At the same time, the in-depth excavation of folk art also nourished her artistic creation. She boldly tried to use blue printed cloth for paper-cut creation, and the visual effect was refreshing. The expression of Pizhou paper lion's head in the form of traditional Chinese painting and poster design also stems from her thinking and understanding on how to use folk art for modern life.

Ma Qian is a good teacher who is willing to contribute, a good painter with personal style, a designer with rich creativity, a good scholar with rigorous scholarship, and an artist with noble sentiments. Ma Qian's works show her own personality concept, condense the unique gentleness and delicacy of women, and reveal her confidence and strength. She tells her opinion in her own artistic language, and expresses the purity of her soul with her own brush. Watching her works can make people calm down and think deeply.

I like Ma Qian's works of art and think her paintings have unique artistic personality. I think she has talent of an accomplished artist. I wish associate professor Ma Qian's exhibition a complete success!
