Introduction

Gao Made (1919-2007), a famous painter, was born in Nanjing.

In the 1970s, many books of children's books were created and published, which were widely distributed at home and abroad. In 1978, he won the "children's Book Award of Asia Center of UNESCO".

In the 1980s, he joined Jiangsu traditional Chinese Painting Academy, a national first-class artist, enjoying the "special allowance" of the State Council, specializing in traditional opera figure painting, especially focusing on Kunqu opera art, which is the "master of all kinds of operas". With the exaggeration and generalization of caricature, he depicted the elegant Kunqu Opera, showing the gentle, lyrical, bold and unconstrained, funny and humorous of the people in the opera, created various figures, and published them There are dozens of picture books and art books. The works are exhibited at home and abroad and widely collected.

In 2004, he published a collection of colorful Kunqu Opera paintings, which was given to the 26th World Heritage conference of UNESCO as a state gift. Later, the book won the gold medal of illustration in the sixth national book binding Art Exhibition Award.

In July 2006, the Kunqu Opera and Painting Art Museum of Gao Made settled in the Kunqu Museum of China. Mr. Ma De donated his 100 Kunqu Opera paintings to our museum free of charge, making our museum the first professional art museum in China to integrate Kunqu Opera, the master of all kinds of opera, with Chinese painting and ink.

Remarks
Looking at the sketch of Made's opera, its unique feature is to trace the development of the plot with heart and extract the key image from it, instead of grasping only one piece or half claw or intercepting individual fragments in isolation. Another characteristic is good at capturing the special identity and character of small people. For example, searching for horses and reporting military information, corrupt officials show embarrassment, matchmakers say amorous feelings, and small people turn around and fight, all of them are absorbed.

-- Ye Qianyu

Made is an old cartoonist. From the perspective of his plays and paintings, he understands plays, because the dynamic expression of the characters in the paintings cannot be obtained without the experts. He is different from other people who draw sketches when they go to the theatre. Made also uses ink for painting. It has strong charm. The lines are concise, fluent but not slippery His ink and sketch characters are all comic flavor, which can be called unique in China.

-- Hua Junwu

Made's paintings are beautiful and light.

——Xin Fengxia

The female characters in Made's works are all close to the white drawing. Although the ink is very simple, it is more graceful and gentle. Made has a heart. He uses the most economical ink on the face of the character. He not only focuses on drawing body movements with delicate and vigorous lines, but also skillfully makes the props show the relationship between the characters. In this way, the figure is not the general figure, but the expressive body.
